Officers were called to a reported stabbing on Main Street at 4:00 p.m., where two men, known to each other, had been in a fight.

A 40-year-old man was transported by EHS to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with serious injuries and was pronounced dead.

Police say the other man was arrested at the scene and the incident was referred to investigators, with assistance from forensic identification officers and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
