Rhyah Stewart is making history: First female to play with Cape Breton West

Cape Breton West announced their roster over the weekend.

This Islanders team is one for the history books.

Rhyah Stewart of Antigonish Co. made the team and will be the first female to hit the ice as an Islander.

Last season with the Cabot Highlanders, Stewart had a save percentage of .917 (Eliteprospects.com)

The 2022-2023 team features players from Mabou, Port Hood, Judique, Inverness, Port Hawkebury, Antigonish and more communities across the Quad Counties.

The Islanders will host the South Shore in their home opener October 1st.
