Inverness Co. sisters compete at Canada Wide Science Fair

Two local students recently competed at the Canada Wide Science Fair.
Elise Munro and Nila Munro, sisters from Inverness Co., both represented the Strait Regional Centre for Education on the national stage.
The event this year was virtual and was hosted by the University of New Brunswick from May 16th to 22nd.
During the week, they participated in a variety of online events including science explorations, presentations, social events and project judging.
Elise is a grade eight student at Bayview Education Centre and her project was Lymeon: A Novel Way to Test Lyme Disease in Minutes.
Elise Munro earned a Bronze Medal and a scholarship from Western University for her project.
She also competed in a competition to design a virtual trading pin for the event.
Her design was selected as the official CWSF Pin from submissions from across the country.
Nila Munro is a grade eleven student at Dalbrae Academy in Mabou.
Her project was Holy Mouses: The Potential Problem of Mice as Temperatures Rise
