Inverness Co. RCMP arrest two impaired drivers over the weekend

Inverness County District RCMP arrested two impaired drivers over the weekend.
On September 9th, at approximately 4:20 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in Inverness.
Officers located the vehicle on Beach Rd. and observed that the driver was displaying signs of impairment.
The 73-year-old Strathlorne man, was arrested and provided samples of breath that were more than 2.5 times the legal limit.
The man was released and will appear in court at a later date.
On September 10th, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Inverness County District RCMP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Hwy. 19 in Southwest Mabou.
RCMP located the vehicle on Hwy. 19 and observed that the driver was displaying signs of impairment.
The driver, a 54-year-old Mabou man, was arrested and provided samples of breath that were four times the legal limit.
The man was later released and will appear in court at a later date.
RCMP would like to thank the members of the public who called 911 to report the impaired drivers in these cases.
Impaired driving is one of the four major causal factors of serious and fatal injury collisions in Nova Scotia and the RCMP continues to make impaired driving enforcement a priority.
