Federal government announces $8.8 million for new youth and community centre

The federal government announced funding for Cape Breton Island on Thursday.
Mike Kelloway says $8.8 million will support the construction of the new Glace Bay Youth and Community Centre.
This new 26,000 square feet net-zero carbon facility will supply residents with access to multi-use space, indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, a commercial kitchen for programming, a nursery area, indoor playground, community meeting space, and a community café.
Programming will be for all ages, from youth, to seniors and families.
Kelloway says the community hub will provide the people of Glace Bay with a welcoming and inclusive space where they can access a wide range of services and benefit from a new community hub that has well-equipped spaces for arts, entrepreneurship, recreation, and technology.
