Eskasoni man charged with weapons and cannabis offences

Eskasoni RCMP charged a man with weapons and cannabis offences in relation to a traffic stop that led to a search warrant.
On April 23rd, shortly before 2 p.m., RCMP were conducting a traffic enforcement check point on Shore Rd. in Eskasoni.
When a Nissan Altima entered the check point, officers detected a strong odor of cannabis coming from the vehicle and observed dried cannabis within reach of the driver.
36-year-old Wilfred Michael Cremo of Eskasoni, was safely arrested and transported to the RCMP detachment.
The vehicle was seized by officers and towed to the police station.
During a search of the vehicle, officers seized several prohibited weapons and approximately 7.5 lbs. of cannabis.
Further information gathered by officers led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Eskasoni.
During the search officers seized prohibited weapons including conducted energy weapons (CEW), prohibited devices including CEW cartridges, various quantities of dried cannabis and derivatives of cannabis.
36-year-old Wilfred Michael Cremo has been charged with the following offences:
Prohibited to Possess Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling;
Two counts of Careless Use of a Firearm;
Two counts of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose;
Three counts of Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Restricted Weapon, a Prohibited Device; and
Three counts of Occupant of a Motor Vehicle in Which There is a Firearm, Prohibited Weapon or Restricted Weapon.
Cremo was released by the courts on conditions and will appear in Eskasoni Provincial Court on May 24th, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
