Angry customer charged after significant damage at A&P Jewelry

A 29-year-old man is facing charges connected to a disturbance on Welton St. in Sydney on Monday.

Cape Breton Regional Police responded to the area at 12:00 p.m., after reports from A&P Jewelry that an angry customer, who they knew and were able to identify, had caused significant damage to items inside the store and threatened staff.

An officer quickly spotted the suspect running on Norwood Street through residential yards.

The officer exited the police cruiser and ran after him, joined by additional officers and a K9 team.

They caught up to the suspect on Upper Prince Street, where he eventually cooperated with arrest.

Aaron Rene Francis, of Membertou, is charged with Mischief, Uttering Threats, Resisting a Peace officer and Assaulting a Peace Officer.
